What a Home Installation Includes

Usage-based sizing

We size from twelve months of your FortisBC or BC Hydro bills, not from how big the roof is. Solar pays you back mostly on power you would otherwise buy, so annual use is the number that matters.

Roof survey: planes, pitch, shade and age

Every usable plane gets measured and shade-modelled across the day and the seasons. We also note how many years the roof has left, because panels on a roof that needs replacing soon cost you a removal and reinstall.

Panels, racking, inverter and monitoring

Tier-one all-black panels, racking rated for local snow and wind, and microinverters or optimisers where shade calls for them. App-based monitoring is standard.

Licensed electrical work

All wiring is done by licensed electricians. Some older homes in Rutland and Glenmore need a panel upgrade first. We find that during the survey so it is in the quote.

Permits and utility paperwork

Electrical permit, the interconnection application (FortisBC net metering or BC Hydro self-generation), and the BC Hydro rebate claim where you qualify. We file it and follow it up.

Commissioning and walkthrough

Inspection, switch-on and a walkthrough of your monitoring app, plus what your first bill after solar should look like.

Design & quote

Permits & install
We pull the permit and file the utility and rebate paperwork. Our team and vetted contractor partners install, usually in one to three days.

Switch-on
Inspection, utility approval and commissioning. We show you the monitoring app and what your next bill should look like.

On-site work usually takes one to three days. Permits and utility approval take longer than the install itself, so allow four to eight weeks from signing to switch-on.
