For your home
Residential Solar Panel Installation in Kelowna, BC
Grid-tied rooftop systems sized to the power your household actually uses, and to the utility that sends your bill.
Rooftop Solar for Kelowna Homes
Residential solar in Kelowna comes down to three questions: how much power the house uses, how good the roof is, and which utility you are on. A south-facing Kettle Valley roof on a house with a heat pump and an EV is an easy yes. A shaded Lower Mission lot with a $70 bill usually is not. We quote both, and we tell you which one you have.
Systems start from $10,000 installed for a small array and reach about $32,000 for a large all-electric home. Before you sign anything you get the system size, the expected annual output, the rebate you actually qualify for and the payback year, all in writing.
Call 250-250-2525 and we can usually say in one short call whether your roof is worth a closer look.
What a Home Installation Includes
Usage-based sizing
We size from twelve months of your FortisBC or BC Hydro bills, not from how big the roof is. Solar pays you back mostly on power you would otherwise buy, so annual use is the number that matters.
Roof survey: planes, pitch, shade and age
Every usable plane gets measured and shade-modelled across the day and the seasons. We also note how many years the roof has left, because panels on a roof that needs replacing soon cost you a removal and reinstall.
Panels, racking, inverter and monitoring
Tier-one all-black panels, racking rated for local snow and wind, and microinverters or optimisers where shade calls for them. App-based monitoring is standard.
Licensed electrical work
All wiring is done by licensed electricians. Some older homes in Rutland and Glenmore need a panel upgrade first. We find that during the survey so it is in the quote.
Permits and utility paperwork
Electrical permit, the interconnection application (FortisBC net metering or BC Hydro self-generation), and the BC Hydro rebate claim where you qualify. We file it and follow it up.
Commissioning and walkthrough
Inspection, switch-on and a walkthrough of your monitoring app, plus what your first bill after solar should look like.
Home Solar Costs in Kelowna
| System size | Suits | Installed cost | Est. annual output | Est. annual saving |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| 6 kW | 1,500–2,000 sq ft home | from $15,000 | ~6,900 kWh | ~$1,000 |
| 8 kW | 2,000–2,800 sq ft home | from $19,500 | ~9,200 kWh | ~$1,330 |

Typical Central Okanagan installs at about 14.5¢/kWh blended; savings assume FortisBC net metering. BC Hydro customers can subtract a rebate of up to $5,000, but are paid 10¢/kWh for exported power, so their yearly saving is roughly 20% lower. FortisBC customers currently get no rebate. Your number depends on orientation, shade, panel count and your electrical service. Financing available.

How a Home Install Runs
- 1
Assessment
Twelve months of bills, your roof planes and shade, your electrical panel, and which utility serves you. Most of it is done by phone and satellite imagery before anyone visits.
- 2
Design & quote
System size, expected output, your rebate (if any), credit for exported power and payback year, in writing with the assumptions shown.
- 3
Permits & install
We pull the permit and file the utility and rebate paperwork. Our team and vetted contractor partners install, usually in one to three days.
- 4
Switch-on
Inspection, utility approval and commissioning. We show you the monitoring app and what your next bill should look like.
On-site work usually takes one to three days. Permits and utility approval take longer than the install itself, so allow four to eight weeks from signing to switch-on.
